The Unbelievable Truth About Sleep Deprivation

Pure exhaustion can affect many facets of our lives. Many believe that they are doing just fine sleeping for five or six hours per night. That is not the case at all.

You Can Bank On It
If our sleep were stored in a bank we would see the true balance by the end of the week. The body will show slightly slower response times. Everyone is different, the same goes for personal experiences. Brain fog can be a complaint many individuals are facing. As we sleep we are making deposits of energy. While we are awake, this is a withdrawal of energy. Have you heard of the term, “Rob Peter to pay Paul?” By midweek the account will be in deficit.

We Are All In This Together Without a doubt sleep is of the utmost importance to our basic survival. Driving without enough rest is the equivalent of taking a medicine that contains an antihistamine. Don’t operate heavy machinery while under any influence. Your life and the lives of others may depend on your judgment.

Problematic Side Effects Lack of proper rest accelerates the aging process. Acne may begin to appear on your face, chest, shoulders, or back. The white of your eyes will become dry, dull, and could become the color of a broom. The immune system will decrease and make it easier for illnesses to latch on and live inside your body.

Expect to start gaining belly fat. Weight gain is in store for your future. You may experience inflammation, sunken in eyes, loss of collagen, wounds heal slower, excessively dry face, wrinkles, and eczema. This is not a joke. #SelfCare

Have you ever been at school or work and notice how you are taking your frustrations out on anyone near you? Pay attention to your tone, body language, and how others respond to you during this time. Are you agitated, angry, unable to focus? Now is the time to catch up on some zzz’s. When your body rebels against you it is begging for attention. You and your body are a team. #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork

Forcing Your Battery To Power Down

Sleep deprivation is a serious business. It affects your mental health. You may experience negative issues you would not have otherwise. One day can easily spill over into the next day.
Insomnia can develop as a side effect of sorts. Being unable to fall asleep makes you too tired to take on the next day. To perform at optimum levels you need to recharge yourself completely.

Now Listen Up
No matter your age…listen to what your body is telling you. Did you ever realize the immediate consequences that followed when you ignored the signs? Think back to every time things went wrong. Consider how to avoid mishaps in the future. The moment you do your life will begin to improve. Follow your instinct, there is a reason it exists.

You Need A Game Plan
Everyone gets a do-over. Create a list of healthy foods you like to consume. Cut back or completely remove processed sugars and caffeine from your diet. Dehydration can also be the culprit to your stress, migraines, and or headaches. Fortunately most of the issues are reversible. Inhale some essential oils, such as lavender or peppermint. It will help your body to relax and get some shut-eye.
